Is IETX Editor completely free?
Yes, IETX Editor is 100% free to use. No account, no subscription, no
credit card required. You can open the editor and start creating immediately.
Do I need to create an account to
use IETX Editor?
No account needed. IETX Editor runs entirely in your browser. Just
visit http://localhost/ietxeditor/editor and start editing.
Which browsers are
supported?
IETX Editor works best in Google Chrome and
Microsoft Edge (latest versions). Firefox and Safari are supported but PWA
install features are limited. Internet Explorer is not supported.
Who created IETX Editor?
IETX Editor is built and maintained by
Vebnox. The
project is hosted at
ietx.org. You can reach
the team at
support@ietx.org.
Is IETX Editor open
source?
IETX Editor is powered by open-source libraries including
Fabric.js and jQuery. The IETX branding
and extended features are proprietary to Vebnox.
What can I use IETX Editor
for?
IETX Editor is used for creating social media graphics, photo editing,
poster design, watermarking images, adding text overlays, applying filters, drawing, and
compositing layered designs — all in the browser.
What image formats are supported
for import?
You can import JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG, and BMP
files. The editor accepts images via file upload or URL. Maximum recommended file size is
10MB for optimal performance.
Is there a size limit for images
I upload?
There's no hard limit, but we recommend staying under 10MB per image
for best performance. Very large files (50MB+) may cause the browser tab to slow down
depending on your device's RAM.
Does IETX Editor work on mobile
devices?
Yes! IETX Editor is fully responsive and works on mobile browsers. For
the best mobile experience, install it as a PWA from Chrome on Android — it will feel like a
native app with full offline support.
Is there a native desktop
app?
Not a traditional desktop app, but IETX Editor can be installed as a
Progressive Web App (PWA) on Windows, Mac, and Linux via Chrome or Edge.
This gives you a native-feeling app with offline support.
What technology stack does IETX
Editor use?
IETX Editor is built with Fabric.js for the canvas engine,
jQuery for DOM manipulation, Vanilla CSS for styling, and a custom
Service Worker for PWA/offline support. No framework required.
How do I report a bug or
issue?
Please email us at
support@ietx.org with a description of the issue, the
browser/OS you're using, and a screenshot if possible. We aim to respond within 48 hours.
Where can I see the
changelog?
Yes! Visit the
Changelog page for a full
version history with detailed release notes. The current version is v2.1.0.
What is the current version of
IETX Editor?
The current version is v2.1.0 — the "Advanced Platform
Upgrade" release, featuring PWA offline support, 100+ FAQ page, clean URL routing, canvas
auto-save, and many more improvements.
How many filters does IETX Editor
have?
IETX Editor includes 14+ built-in image filters:
Grayscale, Sepia, Invert, Sharpen, Blur, Emboss, Brownie, Vintage, Kodachrome, Polaroid,
Black & White, Shift, SobelX, and SobelY. All are non-destructive.
Are filters non-destructive? Can
I remove them?
Yes! All filters in IETX Editor are non-destructive. You can apply,
adjust, or remove any filter at any time without permanently altering the original image
data on the canvas.
How does layer management
work?
Every element on the canvas is a layer. Use the Layers panel to:
reorder layers via drag (or up/down buttons), lock individual layers to prevent accidental
edits, duplicate layers, and delete them. Layers are listed top-to-bottom matching the
canvas stacking order.
Is there a limit to the number of
layers?
There's no hard layer limit. In practice, performance depends on your
device. We recommend staying under 100 layers for smooth operation. Complex designs with
many high-res images may slow down older devices.
Can I add custom text to my
images?
Yes! Click the Text tool in the left sidebar, click on
the canvas, and start typing. You can control font family (Google Fonts), size, weight,
color, stroke, background, letter spacing, line height, and alignment.
What fonts are available in IETX
Editor?
IETX Editor integrates with Google Fonts, giving you
access to hundreds of free fonts. Browse and select any font from the text panel. Fonts are
loaded on-demand from the Google CDN.
Can I draw or paint on the
canvas?
Yes! Click the Brushes tool. Available brush types:
Freehand, Hline (horizontal lines), Vline (vertical lines), Square pattern, and Eraser. You
can adjust brush size, color, and shadow settings.
What shapes can I add to the
canvas?
IETX Editor supports hundreds of SVG shapes including circles,
rectangles, triangles, stars, arrows, hearts, and custom complex shapes. Access them from
the Shapes panel. You can customize fill color, stroke, opacity, and shadow.
Can I add icons to my
design?
Yes! IETX Editor includes the full Google Material
Icons library. Browse and search thousands of icons, then click to add them
directly to the canvas as fully editable vector elements.
What are the built-in
templates?
IETX Editor comes with 42+ pre-built templates across
categories like social media, grunge, abstract, poster, and square formats. Templates load
as fully editable canvas compositions — customize every element.
Does IETX Editor have frames or
borders?
Yes! The Frames library contains dozens of decorative borders and frame
overlays. Click any frame to apply it as a canvas overlay layer. You can resize, recolor,
and reposition it freely.
Can I add brand logos or social
media icons?
Yes! Access hundreds of brand logos (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn,
etc.) via the Brands library in the Apps section. Logos are SVG-based so they remain crisp
at any size.
Can I adjust brightness,
contrast, saturation?
Yes. Select an image layer and go to the Adjust panel
on the left sidebar. You'll find sliders for Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Hue, and
Gamma adjustments, all applied non-destructively in real time.
Can I add a watermark to my
images?
Yes. Add text or image elements and position them as watermarks. The
export will include them. You can also configure a persistent auto-watermark in the Settings
panel using the built-in watermark text field (ietx.org by default).
How do I crop an image in IETX
Editor?
Select your image layer, then click Crop in the Adjust
panel. Drag the crop handles to define the area. Click Apply Crop to confirm. You
can crop to a specific aspect ratio or freehand.
Can I flip or rotate
objects?
Yes. Select any object and use the transform handles on the canvas to
rotate freely. Or use the Adjust panel for precise rotation angle entry. Flip Horizontal /
Flip Vertical buttons are in the Adjust panel.
Is there Undo / Redo
support?
Yes! Full unlimited undo/redo history is supported. Use
Ctrl+Z to undo and Ctrl+Y (or Ctrl+Shift+Z) to redo. The history
is preserved during a session and can be browsed via the History icon in the top toolbar.
What keyboard shortcuts are
available?
Key shortcuts include: Ctrl+Z Undo, Delete
Delete selected, Arrow Keys Move selected object by 1px, Ctrl+C/V
Copy/Paste (system clipboard). More shortcuts are shown in the Settings panel.
What is a Progressive Web App
(PWA)?
A PWA is a website that can be installed like a native app on your
device. It gains features like: working offline (via Service Worker caching), appearing in
your app launcher/taskbar, launching without a browser URL bar, and receiving app-like
notifications.
How do I install IETX Editor as a
PWA?
In Chrome or Edge: visit the site, then click the install icon
(⬇) in the address bar, or look for an "Install IETX Editor" toast notification
at the bottom-right. Click Install. The app will appear in your Start Menu / Applications
folder.
Does IETX Editor truly work
without the internet?
Yes! After your first visit, IETX Editor is fully cached by the Service
Worker (sw.js). HTML, CSS, JS, fonts, and base images are all stored locally.
Disconnect your internet and reload — the editor runs perfectly.
What files are cached for offline
use?
The Service Worker caches: index.html,
editor.html, all CSS files, all JavaScript files (Fabric.js, plugins,
custom.js), core assets (logo, favicon), and any other files you visit during your session
via dynamic caching.
Will my canvas survive a page
refresh?
Yes! IETX Editor auto-saves the canvas state to
localStorage on every change. When you refresh, it detects the saved state and
offers to restore it. You won't lose your work on an accidental refresh.
How do I clear the PWA
cache?
In Chrome: press F12 → Application → Service Workers →
click Unregister. Then go to Storage → Clear Storage → Clear Site Data. Or simply
clear your browser's cached data from Settings → Privacy → Clear Browsing Data.
Does the PWA auto-update when we
release new features?
Yes. Our Service Worker version manager automatically detects when a
new cache version is available (when we update the CACHE_NAME constant in
sw.js). Old caches are purged and the new version is installed transparently on
next visit.
Can I install IETX Editor on
iPhone or iPad?
Yes, on iOS Safari: visit the site → tap the Share
icon → select Add to Home Screen. The app will appear on your home
screen. Note: Service Worker offline support on iOS Safari has some limitations compared to
Chrome on Android.
Is my data safe when using
offline mode?
Absolutely. All your canvas data is stored locally in your browser's
localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server. Your designs stay completely
private on your device.
What happens to my saved canvas
if I clear browser data?
Clearing browser site data will delete your locally saved canvas state,
settings, and favorites. Always export your design as a PNG or JPEG before clearing data to
preserve your work permanently.
How much storage space does the
PWA take?
The initial cache is approximately 5–15 MB covering
HTML, CSS, JS, and core assets. Dynamic caching (from browsing templates and icons) may add
another 5–20 MB over time. Canvas state in localStorage is typically under 500 KB.
Does the PWA work on Windows
desktop?
Yes. Install IETX Editor via Chrome or Edge on Windows. It will appear
in your Start Menu, run in its own window, and appear in the taskbar like any other
application. Full offline mode is supported on Windows.
How do I start a new canvas /
project?
Click the New button in the top-right toolbar. Enter
your desired width and height (in pixels). You can choose from common presets like Instagram
Post, Twitter Header, or A4 Poster. Click Create to start fresh.
How do I add an image to the
canvas?
Click the Image tool in the left sidebar. Then either:
(1) Click Upload Image to pick a file from your computer, (2) Enter a URL to load
an image from the web, or (3) Drag and drop an image file directly onto the canvas.
How do I select multiple objects
at once?
Hold Shift and click multiple objects to add them to the
selection, or click and drag on an empty canvas area to draw a selection rectangle. You can
then move, scale, and delete all selected objects together.
Can I resize the canvas after
creating it?
Yes. Click the Adjust tab and look for the Canvas Size
settings. Enter new width and height values. You can choose to keep or scale existing
content proportionally when resizing.
How do I zoom in and out on the
canvas?
Use the + and − buttons in the
bottom-right of the canvas, or use Ctrl+Mouse Wheel to zoom smoothly. The
current zoom level is shown as a percentage. Click the percentage to reset to 100%.
How do I change the canvas
background color?
In the Adjust panel, find the Canvas Background color
picker. Click it to open the color picker and choose any color. Leave it empty for a
transparent background (useful for PNG export with transparency).
How do I delete an object from
the canvas?
Select the object and press the Delete or
Backspace key. Or click the Delete Layer (trash icon) button
in the Layers panel. You can also right-click for a context menu with delete options.
How do I duplicate an
object?
Select the object and click the Duplicate button in
the layers panel or toolbar. The duplicated object appears slightly offset from the
original. You can also use Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V to copy/paste.
Can I group objects
together?
Yes. Select multiple objects (Shift+click or drag select), then click
the Group button in the toolbar. Grouped objects move and transform
together. Click Ungroup to separate them again.
How do I align objects on the
canvas?
Select one or more objects. In the Adjust panel you'll find alignment
buttons: Align Left, Center, Right, Top, Middle, Bottom. You can align to the canvas or
relative to the selection. Aligning guidelines appear as you drag.
What are the rulers for?
Rulers appear along the top and left edge of the canvas and display
pixel measurements. Drag from the rulers onto the canvas to create guide lines. These help
you position objects precisely. You can configure guide color in Settings.
What does the Adjust panel
do?
The Adjust panel (leftmost sidebar icon) contains canvas-level
settings: canvas size, background color, flip canvas, rulers, guides, and theme settings. It
also shows brightness/contrast sliders when an image layer is selected.
How do I switch between dark and
light themes?
Go to Settings (gear icon, bottom-left sidebar). Under
the Appearance section, use the Theme dropdown to switch between Dark and Light themes. Your
preference is saved automatically to localStorage.
How do I add decorative elements
to my design?
Click the Elements icon (star) in the left sidebar.
Browse through categories of decorative SVG elements — stickers, badges, dividers, and more.
Click any element to add it to your canvas, then resize and recolor freely.
How do I use guides and
snapping?
Drag from the horizontal or vertical ruler to create a guide line.
Objects will snap to guide lines when dragged near them. To delete a guide, drag it back to
the ruler. Smart alignment guidelines also appear when objects are aligned with each other.
Can I add gradient fill to text
or shapes?
Yes. Select a text or shape layer. In the Fill section of the
properties panel, change the Fill Style from Solid Color to Gradient.
Choose gradient direction and two or more stop colors. The gradient renders in real time on
the canvas.
How do I add a drop shadow to an
object?
Select any object. In the properties panel, find the
Shadow toggle. Enable it, then adjust shadow color, blur, and X/Y offset.
Shadows are rendered live on the canvas and exported with the final image.
How do I change an object's
opacity/transparency?
Select an object. In the properties panel you'll find an
Opacity slider (0–1). Drag it to the desired transparency. 1 = fully
opaque, 0 = invisible. This works on text, shapes, images, and any other element.
Can I save and reload a
project?
Yes. Click Save or Download in the top-right toolbar.
You can save the canvas as a JSON file which captures the full canvas state. Later,
click Open and select your JSON file to restore the project exactly as it was.
What formats can I export my
design to?
IETX Editor supports exporting to JPEG, PNG, WebP, and
SVG. JPEG is best for photos. PNG supports transparency. WebP offers the best
compression. SVG preserves vector elements as scalable graphics.
Can I export at high resolution
or 4K?
Yes. In the Export panel, you can set a Multiplier
(1x, 2x, 3x, 4x). A 2x multiplier doubles the output resolution. So an 800×600 canvas
exported at 2x becomes a 1600×1200 image — excellent for print and retina displays.
How do I export with a
transparent background?
Set the Canvas Background color to empty (none/transparent) in the
Adjust panel, then export as PNG. PNG supports alpha transparency. JPEG and
WebP do not support transparency — they'll show a white background.
Is PDF export available?
Yes! PDF export is available via the built-in PDF Export
App in the Apps section, powered by the jsPDF CDN. Click the PDF
Export app, configure paper size and orientation, and download.
Will my exported image have a
watermark?
Only if you have the watermark enabled in Settings. By default, the
watermark shows ietx.org in the corner. You can disable it or change the text
in the Settings panel. Elements you add yourself are always included in exports.
How do I save my project to
reopen later?
Click Save or Download → Save as JSON. This
saves a .json file of the full canvas to your computer. To reopen, click
Open File and select your saved JSON. Canvas state is also auto-saved to
localStorage for quick recovery on refresh.
What if I accidentally closed the
tab?
If canvas auto-save was active, simply reopen the editor and it will
prompt you to restore the last saved state. If you had explicitly saved a JSON file, open it
via the Open File button to restore your work.
Can I export just one layer or
object?
Not directly via the UI, but you can hide all other layers (click the
visibility toggle in the Layers panel), then export the canvas. Only visible layers will
appear in the export. Re-show layers afterwards.
Where are exported files
downloaded to?
Exported files are downloaded directly to your browser's default
Downloads folder. You can change this in your browser's download settings. The filename will
be something like ietx-design.png.
Can I set a custom filename for
exported images?
In the Export/Download dialog, enter your desired filename in the
File Name input field before clicking download. Your browser may still
prompt you to confirm the save location depending on your settings.
How can I financially support
IETX Editor?

Crypto (BTC/ETH). Credit and debit card payments are available via Razorpay
for users worldwide. More payment methods coming soon.
Is my donation tax
deductible?
Donations to IETX Editor / Vebnox are not tax-deductible as charitable
contributions. They are payments in support of software development. Please consult your
local tax authority for specifics.
Where do donations go?
Donations help pay for: server hosting, domain costs, CDN fees, API
costs (AI services, fonts), developer time for new features and bug fixes, and keeping the
editor free for everyone forever.
How do I contact the IETX support
team?
Email us at
support@ietx.org. We
typically respond within 24–48 hours on business days. For bugs, please include your browser
version, OS, and a screenshot or screen recording if possible.
Can I get a refund on my
donation?
Donations are voluntary contributions and are generally non-refundable.
If you believe a payment was made in error, please contact us at
support@ietx.org within 7 days and we'll review your
case.
Will I receive a receipt for my
donation?
PayPal and Razorpay automatically send a payment confirmation email.
For crypto donations, the transaction hash serves as your receipt. If you need an invoice,
contact us at
support@ietx.org.
How does watching an ad help
support IETX?
Ad revenue from display and video ads (via AdSense, AdsTerra or similar
networks) contributes to our monthly hosting and API costs. Each ad view generates a small
amount of revenue that adds up over time from our community. It's a free way to contribute!
Can I self-host IETX Editor on my
own server?
Yes. Copy the entire ietxeditor directory to your server's
web root (Apache, Nginx, or any static server). Ensure mod_rewrite is enabled
in Apache for the .htaccess to work. No backend or database required — it's all
static files.
What exactly does the Service
Worker (sw.js) do?
The Service Worker intercepts all fetch requests. On install, it
pre-caches critical files. On fetch, it checks the cache first — if found, it returns the
cached version; if not, it fetches from network and caches the response. On activate, it
clears old caches.
Can I extend IETX Editor with
custom JavaScript?
Yes! The js/custom.js file has a
customFunctions callback specifically designed for your custom code. It
receives the editor wrapper, Fabric.js canvas, and loader — you can hook into any part of
the editor from there.
What version of Fabric.js does
IETX use?
IETX Editor uses Fabric.js (a custom extended build included as
js/fabric.min.js). The extended build includes additional functionality like
the Eraser Brush and enhanced selection controls not in the standard Fabric.js CDN build.
Does IETX Editor communicate with
any backend server?
The core editor is 100% client-side — no backend communication.
Optional features like AI Studio use OpenRouter, AI Background Removal uses free public APIs
(Hugging Face), and the Crypto Ticker uses the CoinGecko public API. These are optional and
the editor works without them.
What is the purpose of
custom.js?
custom.js is the main configuration and initialization
file. It initializes the ietx() editor with your settings: baseURL, API keys,
watermark text, Unsplash/Pixabay integration keys, custom functions, and other global
options.
How do I configure API keys
(Unsplash, Pixabay)?
Open js/custom.js and find the API SETTINGS section. Enter
your API keys for Unsplash (unsplashAccessKey), Pixabay
(pixabayKey), and others. These enable the built-in image search features
inside the editor.
How do I disable or change the
watermark in custom.js?
In js/custom.js, find
watermarkText: "ietx.org". Change the value to your custom text or set it to an
empty string "" to disable the watermark. You can also configure watermark
position and font in the same config block.
Does IETX Editor work with XAMPP
/ local server?
Yes! IETX Editor is designed to run on XAMPP (or any Apache server).
Place the folder in C:\xampp\htdocs\ietxeditor and access it at
http://localhost/ietxeditor. Ensure Apache's mod_rewrite is enabled for clean
URLs to work.
How do I enable mod_rewrite in
XAMPP?
Open C:\xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf. Find the line
#LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so and remove the #
to uncomment it. Also find AllowOverride None in the htdocs section and change
it to AllowOverride All. Restart Apache.
What does the .htaccess file
do?
The .htaccess file handles: (1) removing
.html extensions from URLs for clean SEO-friendly URLs, (2) security headers
(X-Frame-Options, XSS-Protection), (3) Gzip compression for faster load, (4) browser caching
for images/CSS/JS, and (5) custom 404 error page.
Does IETX Editor collect any
personal data?
No. IETX Editor does not collect personal data. The core editor is 100%
client-side. No images, canvas data, or personal information is ever uploaded to our
servers. Your work stays entirely on your device.
Are my images uploaded to your
servers?
Absolutely not. All image processing happens locally in your browser
using the HTML5 Canvas API. Images are never uploaded to IETX servers. Optional features
like AI Studio send prompts to OpenRouter, and the AI Background Remover (when used) sends
data to Hugging Face's API, not to us.
What is stored in my browser's
localStorage?
IETX Editor stores: (1) ietx-user-settings — your theme,
font size preferences; (2) ietx-user-frames — your starred frame favorites; (3)
ietx-user-elements — your starred element favorites; (4)
ietx-user-templates — your starred templates; (5)
ietx-canvas-state — auto-saved canvas JSON.
Does IETX Editor use
cookies?
The core editor does not use cookies. If we integrate advertising
networks (like Google AdSense) for the ad-watch support feature, those networks may set
their own cookies per their privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their policies if this
concerns you.
Is IETX Editor GDPR
compliant?
Since IETX Editor processes no personal data on our servers and stores
data only locally in your browser, GDPR obligations are minimal. For any third-party API
integrations (AI features, ads), please review those services' GDPR compliance separately.
How do I delete all my stored
data?
Open your browser's DevTools (F12) → Application → Local
Storage → select the IETX Editor origin → click Clear All. Or go to browser
Settings → Clear Browsing Data → Site Data. This removes all stored preferences, favorites,
and auto-saved canvas state.
